COMPENSATION

The Certified Teacher Placement Guide determines teacher pay based on experience, with additional points for relevant qualifications and certifications. Starting pay for non-exempt positions is detailed in the Classified Placement Guide. Bus drivers earn $19.00 per hour, with additional pay for experience and driving athletic events. Substitute teachers can earn between $140 and $165 per day, depending on the type of assignment, and must have an Arizona Teacher or a Substitute Teacher Certificate. The district is also seeking substitutes for classified positions and encourages applications for future openings.

CERTIFIED PLACEMENT GUIDE

The Certified  Teacher Placement Guide is used to determine the placement of new teachers based on their teaching experience and educational background. TVUSD awards 1 point per year of experience, up to a maximum of 15 years, with additional points possible for unique qualifications related to the contracted teaching area. Additional compensation may also be available for certifications directly relevant to the teacher’s subject area.

TRANSPORTATION / BUS DRIVER COMPENSATION

Starting pay for Bus Drivers with a CDL is $19.00 per hour. Drivers with up to 10 years of CDL experience will receive an additional 1% per year of experience, capped at a maximum of 10 years. An extra $5.00 per hour is provided for driving athletic events and field trips. During CDL training, employees earn $16.00 per hour.
