Health Insurance
Medical Coverage
Three medical plans are available through UnitedHealthcare (UHC)—two PPO plans and one High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with Health Savings Account (HSA). TVUSD covers 100% of the HDHP 'employee only' plan and a large portion of the PPO plans for qualifying employees, with contributions for dependent coverage.
Dental Coverage
Two dental plans are available— a copay plan (base) through Employer Dental Services (EDS) and a PPO plan (buy-up) through Principal Financial.

Life, AD&D, Disability Coverage
Basic life and AD&D insurance is through Principal Financial, fully paid by TVUSD, with optional supplemental coverage at employee cost. Short-term disability insurance through Principal Financial fully covered by TVUSD, and Long-term disability through Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) for eligible employees.

Virtual Visits
With Virtual Visits, you can connect with a doctor 24/7 via phone or video, allowing for diagnosis of common medical conditions and prescription of medications when necessary. Accessible through myuhc.com® or the UnitedHealthcare® app, these visits eliminate the need for additional accounts or apps, making it convenient to receive care. Employee Assistance Program
TVUSD provides an employer-paid Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through Jorgensen Brooks, offering confidential support 24/7 for personal and family issues, with access to licensed counselors and up to six in-office sessions per person, per issue, each year at no cost. 888-520-5400.
Care Solace
TVUSD is proud to continue its partnership with Care Solace, a service that helps individuals find and coordinate mental health care. Care Solace assists in locating a variety of services, including individual therapy, family therapy, and psychological testing. 888-515-0595
Retirement
The Arizona State Retirement System
The Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) offers a fixed monthly benefit upon retirement for eligible TVUSD employees who work 20 or more hours per week for 20 or more weeks per year. Both employees and TVUSD contribute to the ASRS Retirement Plan throughout employment.

National Public Pension Fund Association
In addition to the ASRS retirement plan, TVUSD offers a pre-tax Supplemental Retirement Plan administered by the National Public Pension Fund Association (NPPFA) to promote financial wellness among employees. The district provides both a 403(b) and a 457(b) plan, allowing employees to defer contributions on a pre-tax or after-tax (Roth) basis. Pet Care
Pet Insurance
TVUSD is excited to offer employees savings on veterinary care through United Pet Care, covering preventative, accident, and sick care at one low price. Employees enjoy discounts on every veterinary visit, with no claim forms, deductibles, waiting periods, or exclusions for age, breed, or pre-existing conditions.
Time Off Plans
Personal Leave
Employees working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for four prorated personal leave days each school year. Employees can roll over one unused personal leave day to the next school year, and any additional unused days will be added to accrued sick leave at the end of each fiscal year.

Sick Leave
Ten-month employees accrue sick days monthly, totaling a maximum of nine days annually, while eleven-month employees accrue a maximum of ten days annually, and twelve-month employees accrue eleven days per year. Part-time employees working less than 20 hours per week and substitute employees are entitled to a minimum of one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked.

Vacation Leave
Employees working 24 or more hours weekly on a 12-month basis are eligible for prorated vacation time after six months of continuous employment, unless specified otherwise in their contract. A maximum of 40 vacation days may be accrued by the end of each fiscal year.

Holidays
Staff members working 24 or more hours per week are eligible for paid holidays that fall within their contracted days, with holiday pay prorated according to their full-time equivalence (FTE). The designated paid holidays include Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving (3 days), Winter Vacation (2 days), New Year's (2 days), Martin Luther King Day, Rodeo, Spring Break, Memorial Day, and Juneteenth.
